About f4 Photographic Group
Our History
The F4 Photographic Group traces its roots back to 1984, originally formed by participants of a local photography A-level evening class in East Yorkshire. By 1992, having achieved various photographic qualifications, the group became independent, holding its own meetings in Beverley at the Rose & Crown.
In its early years, the club quickly developed a reputation as a highly competitive slide group, participating actively in both local inter-club competitions and the Yorkshire Photographic Union (YPU) under the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). Embracing new technology, F4 fully transitioned into digital photography by 2010, regularly competing in both digital image and print competitions.

Today, F4 Photographic Group continues its proud tradition of photographic excellence, innovation, and fellowship.
Our Values & Community
At its heart, F4 is a community of passionate photographers, dedicated to sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and creating stunning images. The club embraces members of all skill levels — from absolute beginners to experienced award-winning photographers. Education, creativity, camaraderie, and fun remain at the centre of all we do.
We foster a strong social atmosphere with: - Weekly meetings - Summer outings - Annual expeditions to destinations across the UK and Europe - Collaborative competitions and exhibitions - Educational workshops and mentoring - Social events and gatherings.
